A regular exhibitor at the Mall galleries in London, Fred
Beckett is a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters
(President 1995-1997), an Honorary Artist Member of the Royal
Institute of Painters in Watercolours and an Honourary Member
of the Royal Society of British Artists. He was also the winner
of the ROI Alan Gourley Memorial Prize for an Outstanding
Painter in 1995, and was awarded the Le Clerc Fowle Gold Medal
in 2002.
Fred cites the impressionists as a major influence on his
work, his loose style bringing freshness and movement to his
paintings. He draws his inspiration from the light and colour
of natural landscapes. |
